Have just purchased Trap in Apple Store and it won’t play through Apple TV App on TV

Have just purchased Trap in Apple Store and it won’t play on either our LG or Phillips Tv’s through the Apple TV App, we keep getting the message “Incompatible Content - To play this show, try using an Apple device, it does play on our ipad though, but this is only film that won’t play on TV?
