How do I fix a MacBook Pro (2016) that won't turn on and only shows the ESC button lit up?

My MacBook Pro (2016) has just switched off and won't switch back on again. Ive tried to hold the start button down for 10 secs etc but no success - All I can see is the Esc button lit up on the menu bar ?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

force quit a shutdown by holding the power button/TouchID for ~6-10 sec.

Force Shut down your Mac—Log out, sleep, wake, restart or shut down your Mac

ref: Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Supporta

and try a SafeBoot...

A SafeBoot Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled temporarily.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.
