How do I remove a persistent Facebook notification with a green circle and black checkmark in the Dynamic Island on my iPhone?

A green circle with a black checkmark and it appeared at the top of my iPhone screen today. It seems when I press it. It brings me to Facebook. I don’t want it there and I don’t know where it came from. How do I turn it off and what does it mean?

Go to Settings > Apps > Facebook, and turn off the switch for Live Activities.

Apps can use the Dynamic Island to offer additional information. Facebook uses it to alert you when new content has been made available, which can be rather annoying. Some more useful reasons an app may use the Dynamic Island is to show sports scores or ride share apps use it to update information. When more than one Live Activity is available you can swipe on the Dynamic Island to navigate between them.
