How do I fix erratic trackpad behavior on MacBook Pro with macOS 13.4?

MacBook Pro M1 max, Sequoia 15.4, trackpad issues:

Automatically clicks when hovering over links more than 1 or 2 seconds.
Moves the cursor randomly while entering text in Word app.
Context related popup menus randomly fire every few seconds.
On screen view may move to top or bottom of page like quantum observation.

These issues appeared two updates ago, but with lower frequency. No

I would take it to an Apple Store Genius Bar or Authorized Repair Center. It could be some third-party system modification, but it sounds more like a hardware problem. I haven't heard about it in a while, but if the battery starts to swell, it causes strange behavior with the trackpad.
