I'm trying to make instructional videos, but I cannot get it to show in my screen recorders. I have enabled AssistiveTouch in the settings and even updated to PadOS 18.4, but to no avail.

You might be referring to a small, dark circle.
Sorry to tell you, but AssistiveTouch and iPadOS18.4 has nothing to do with this. The only option to show it is to connect your iPad to a keyboard with a trackpad (Magic Keyboard), or just use a Magic Mouse / Magic Trackpad. Hope that helps.
