How to stop Siri from listening to phone calls?

Siri’s listening is defined by the orange circle at the top of the screen.

Every time I make a phone call, the orange circle appears for the duration of the call. Why?

I have turned OFF the Siri listening/learning permissions stated below and have restarted my phone. My phone is current on updates.

Please help direct and inform me what I am missing, and what is allowing Siri to spy and stalk on my phone calls. It must be happening to you, too.

You are misunderstanding the orange circle. It doesn't mean Siri is listening. It means the microphone is active.

Every time I make a phone call, the orange circle appears for the duration of the call. Why?

Because if the microphone wasn't active, no one would be able to hear you talking.

Yes, everyone who uses the phone to make calls sees that. No, Siri is not "stalking" you.
