How do I stop someone from accessing my lost iPad?
I did not recover my iPad from the Security Station at the Dublin Airport in Ireland. I reported it numerous times to the Lost and Found Department there and they finally wrote back to me and said they didn't have it. That was several years ago. I immediately placed the "erase" feature into place to secure my information.
Today I got an email from Apple saying that someone wanted to activate it. "Activation Lock is requesting your password on (my name listed) iPad (2) (iPad Air (3rd Generation)). For your security, Activation Lock requires verifying your Apple Account or your device passcode before anyone can reactivate and use your device. It’s enabled automatically when you enable Find My. If you are setting up this device, simply sign in to your Apple Account."
My phone is telling me that the iPad is now located on at a specifically named street but without a specific number in Dublin. I find this to be creepy. I figure there is nothing more I can do about this now. But I sure won't help them set up the iPad for themselves. I live in the U. S. and am not planning to knock on doors in Dublin to inquire about it.
If there are any insights that anyone could share, I'd be interested in knowing. Of course, I have a different iPad now and I'm not taking it to any foreign country anymore.
