Same as my text edit question earlier. Was trying to move something from
one folder to another. Nope, can't do it because it if I open one
folder and find what I want to move, then open the folder I want to move
it to, that takes the place of the first folder opened. I have had
nothing but problems since going to Sequoia and I have about had it.

Use Command-N ( ⌘N ) twice to open two new windows in Finder.
Navigate each window to the folder you want to deal with.

You could create an "aliases" for your most commonly use folders and put those on the desktop. You don't even have to open the folder that you're moving TO, just drop your files onto the folder's Finder window icon or onto its desktop alias.

You can also have your fav folders display in the Finder sidebar if you like. So you'd only have to open one Finder window, navigate to the FROM folder then drop files from that onto the TO folder icon in the sidebar.

I just drag the file over a folder in the sidebar and it pops open. I can continue that way to wherever I need.
I keep a few strategic locations in my sidebar. I don’t store much very deep, so I don’t have many to work from.
If not already turned on, the setting is in Accessibility under Pointer Control, Spring Loading.
Also discovered that it's actualy less work to remove an item from one folder (i.e. my desktop laptop folder), ptut it on the actual desktop, then move it to another folder.
Thank you - that does work. Just seems like unnecessary steps as opposed to opening a folder and then opening another folder (which I used to do) and moving something from one to another. I used to like Apple because it was so easy. But thanks - since I'm stuck with it until I can find something that works more intuitively, I will do that.
