Can I hide or block political content in the Apple News app?

Is there a button in the Apple News app that would block all articles about Trump, or how do I ask Apple to create one? I like the news app, I don’t like Trump and lately I can’t seem to scroll the news app without seeing hundreds of articles about Trump daily!

For now I just switched to Google news. Normally I use both but this seems to be blatant mass spam. Customizing the Apple News feed I keep asking Apple News to “suggest less” on stories in my feed in an attempt to customize the news feed. But I keep getting more of the same kind of stories. How long is it supposed to take Apple to reflect my preferences using this system? Also, why is there no search function in the News app for iPhone on the main screen when you want to find a story that you saw but can’t find it in your feed any longer? There is a search under “manage favorites,” but search should be easily accessible from the home screen of the app.

How to disable Apple News from launching? This is macOS Ventura. So I don't ever want to launch an Apple News article. How do I stop Apple News from launching if I accidentally click a link that leads to Apple News? It's invasive and I honestly would rather read the articles from the original source not in yet another app. There's got to be a way, right? [Edited by Moderator]

Unfortunately, you will need to skip reading the Today section and select another section, such as Following.
