ipad pro 4th gen...how to view media on my external ssd exrenal drive

After most recent iOS update I can no longer view the media on my external ssd drive, the drive is working correctly

iPad Pro, iPadOS 18

Why not?

What happens when you try?

Does the media not appear in the Files App?

Can you not navigate to the media and play it from there?

Are you using some other App to try to play the media?

Explain your issue in as much detail as possible, and someone may be able to advise.

The files in question are picture files, all formats, when I plug in the drive, the drive light comes on to indicate it’s working, but the drive does not show under location in files, I checked the drive via my laptop, it’s working fine, all media intact, I also checked the format of the drive which remains the same as for iOS , the only thing that has changed is an update to the iOS on the iPad .
