How did my iPad mini 1st gen get music dated before its official release?

I recently checked my music via iTunes, to my surprise the first music put in there was from March. I don't know if this was imported from another device or some other reason, but I know that the release date of the Mini 1 was on November. So its impossible for that to happen.
