Cannot use Mac mouse/keyboard on iPad since updating to macOS 15.4.1

Start by updating your Mac to Sequoia 15.5, the current release.

I have similar issue, however the devices are MacBook Pro M1 with macOS 15.4.1 and IPad M1 5th Gen 13.9” with IpadOs 18.5

it is just not connecting with each other for handoff, however the iPad does work as an added display.
