Apple Gift Card redemption question for non-Apple user for Apple TV.

Received a gift card from a family member and don't use Apple products, so chose to redeem the card for Apple TV, set up the account and redeemed the card and the balance is showing on the account. After the initial free trial, will the billing draw from the gift card balance or will it draw from the credit card necessary to place on file?

Also received an additional offer for an additional two free months of Apple TV, but not sure how to talk to a CSR for help and found my way here.

Suggestions? Thank you!

Account balance is always used before using other payment methods. Depending on the balance amount, a part of a payment can be the balance, with an optional remainder being paid through a credit card.
Some offers may require that only new subscribers redeem that, so you may perhaps not qualify being an existing subscriber. It differs by offer. See the offer’s terms and conditions for details.
