Hi DesignerinPages
welcome to the Apple (user-to-user) Community!
Re: "I design using pages. Have for close to 15 yrs. 5 days ago I lost the ability to change the color and point size of lines. That alone is a project killer. Is there a work around? "
Restarting your Mac was a good first step in trouble-shooting!
Keeping Mac up-to-date with the newest MacOS version can often helps sidestep issues:
What's new in the updates for macOS Sequoia - Apple Support says MacOS 15.6 is the latest:
and
"This update provides important bug fixes and security updates and is recommended for all users".
(NB: If you want to update, please remember it is always wise to back-up Mac first)
As Pages is not part of MacOS, but one of Apple's free apps we can download from the App Store, we may need to open the App Store, and click on "updates" in the left sidebar to check whether there's a Pages update waiting for us to install.
What’s new in Pages on Mac - Apple Support says Pages 14.4 is the latest version:
Eg: says: Version history
"Pages on Mac is frequently updated. Updates are cumulative, so when you use the most recent version of Pages, it has all the latest features. You can see all the new features included with each release" ... (in above article)
one of those new features:
- "Make text edits using Writing Tools directly in your document (requires Apple Intelligence)."
Hope there's something useful to you here.
All the best :-)
