How to add a page break in Pages on iPhone without an external keyboard?

I was using Pages on my iPhone.

I was obviously not descriptive enough on my original post.  I didn’t mean to enter the text “Command“.  I want to enter the Command key as a control key such as “Command-Return” as the function key for “Insert a Page Break” to add a page break in the text.  I got this to work despite not having an external keyboard. I don’t remember what keys I pressed before I accomplished this but somehow an “Enter” menu was displayed and the function “Command-Return” was displayed as one of many options to actually perform the specified function, not merely a Help description.  All I needed to do was press the Return key after the “Command” function was entered and the Page Break was added.  This was somehow accomplished without using an external keyboard.  I hope this helps you understand my real question. Thanks.

On an iPhone, I use the last icon to the right (on the toolbar) to open a popup menu allowing me to choose “Section Break”. It seems to work like a page break when I print the document.

Strangely, on an iPad, the same icon offers a “Page Break” choice, in addition to “Section Break”. I’m really not sure what the differences could be, though.

I have never seen this, and can't find any reports of other users having been able to use Command shortcuts without an external keyboard. I wonder it it was some other app where you saw it. In any case, your point about it being useful to be able to do that in iOS Pages is a good one, and you can ask Apple to add it via

Thanks for your help. However I used Page Break merely as an example of the problem. I really want to access the function key to use in any of the operations that need the Command key (there are dozens of them).

I don’t have an external keyboard and because of an ambulatory problem I have a great difficulty walking around my house to go to my seat and a keyboard at my kitchen table.
