What to do when Numbers spreadsheet rows auto-populate?

I am unable to create a new additional line in a spreadsheet with out it already having data in it.

When I try to add additional rows in my budget spreadsheet they are populated with the date and merchant from the above row. When I attempt to type over the existing merchant the entire line is removed. I tried trouble shooting this using Gemini with all of their suggested remedies, not all were available to me in Numbers v14.4. In addition I have uninstalled and reinstalled numbers.

I have resolved this. I was filtering for one particular Merchant with the Organize feature. Once I closed that everything reverted to normal.
