I'm on a Mac Studio at work where we need to keep this machine on an older OS. Is there any way to turn off the badge on the System Settings icon (which I keep in my Dock) that, in perpetuity, is telling me it wants me to update to Sequoia? I would prefer for the computer to stop telling me it wants to update when I have a valid human reason for not doing so.

—You can safely ignore it...
—you can try from the Terminal.app copy and paste:
sudo softwareupdate --ignore "macOS Sequoia”
followed by:
defaults write com.apple.systempreferences AttentionPrefBundleIDs 0 && Killall Dock
report back your success or failure
First remove the system settings icon from your dock then right click on the system settings icon in application and "make alias". Then you can drag the alias to the dock ilo the original icon and it will not show the badge.
