GARMIN GPS solution connecting and updating on M4 Mac mini running Sequoia 15.6.1

I think I may have found a work around for GARMIN GPS to be seen and updated in Sequoia 15.6.1

I used the USB-A port on my Samsung 27 inch monitor labeled Service also use the USB cable that

came with the GPS

Once you plug that in, launch Disk Utility and select First Aid. Once you see the device select it in the list to the left and hit the run button.

After I did this I was able to get the device to connect with Garmin Express App.

I was able to do this for the Garmin nuvi : 2597LMT and 2599LMTHD

It was a bit frustrating because I was using the new Apple adapter for USB-C to USB-A with the cable that came with the GARMIN gps. That did not work.

I had to use the GARMIN USB-A cable and plug it into the USB-A Service port on the back of the Samsung monitor. At that point Disc Utility / First Aid was able to see the device when it was plugged in.

Once I ran First Aid the device mounted to the desktop and I was able to update both GPS in GARMIN Express
