Header on Every Page! MAKE IT STOP

Y'all, I am having trouble with having my header on every page. I tried deselecting the "match previous section" in the documents tab, and it still isn't working. I need the header, but DEFINITELY don't need it on every page...Please help, how can I fix this?

Headers are designed to be on every page. They're most often used for things like titles, page counts, etc.

Pages does support sections, where you can define different headers (including blank headers) for given sections, but that option (and the 'Match Previous Section checkbox) only applies if you have multiple sections in your document. If your document contains only one section, then there is no previous section to match, so the option does nothing.

If you have a section of your document where you want different headers, use Insert -> Section Break to mark the beginning of the section, then you can use the Match Previous Section checkbox to toggle the setting.

That's kind of the point of headers, that they appear on every page.

If you create a new section, you can choose a different header or none at all.

You can have a different header on odd and even pages and one of them could be nothing at all. Go to the Documents tap, select the Facing pages option. Then click on Section tap and enable "Left and right pages are different."
