That’s the Caps Lock indicator. To get rid of it, press the Caps Lock key.
If you mean permanently get rid of it or make it user selectable, only Apple can do that.

Because it shouldn't be a sYsTem MoDiFicaTioN. Users should be able to simply disable annoying new features.
