iCloud photos not updating on MacBook Air

My Mac Air does not update photos from iCloud since two weeks. It say "restore from iCloud" but it dosen't move on.

I already did all check Apple Id, iCloud space, Mac space, wi-fi connection, mac update...

It sounds like you've been paying attention! I'm not sure about the "restore from iCloud" thing-- that sounds more ominous than just syncing with iCloud. "Restore" is usually used to erase the device and completely replace the contents. I wonder where you saw that. Of course, different regions can use different words…


What do you see at iCloud.com? Do you have pictures there that aren't on the Mac? Do you have pictures on the Mac that aren't at iCloud.com?


I'm not sure what's happening. To narrow things down, try these steps:

  • Restart the computer (of course)
  • Re-start in Safe Mode. This bypasses certain potentially disruptive processes, and it often helps. Safe Mode is different for different computers, so see this: 

           Start up your Mac in safe mode - Apple Support
