Files backed up to iCloud are missing

Where have all my Pages documents gone?

I have been paying $2.99/mo for years now and all my files are missing from my Mac. I create custom song sheets in Pages from free lyrics info I copy from websites. I then print them out and insert them into notebooks which I put on a music stand and use in my performances. I just went to print a song page for someone and my whole list of songs is gone.

I have searched my Mac completely. I have googled to see if there were suggestions but alas, no help. PLEASE help me recover these files...there are 70-80 of them. Why didn't my $2.99 storage plan protect these?
