How to disable liquid glass in iOS 26?
Is there a way to completely disable the liquid glass functionality on iOS 26? I'm not going to get into a lengthy diatribe over why it's awful, I just want it gone.

There's no off switch but however what I did is I went to settings-accessability-display & text size and reduced transparency and if that still isn't okay for you I would recommend scrolling down (same settings) and reducing white points atleast by 50% or however you like. It makes the icons less "shiny" in a way
The recent "Liquid Glass" update has severely damaged the user experience and functionality of the OS. The forced aesthetic changes, with no option to revert or disable them, feel dismissive of the user base.
I strongly request an immediate solution, such as a patch or a downgrade option. If this issue is not resolved, I will be forced to switch to the Android platform, and I am currently advising others to avoid this update entirely.
I’ve never complained about an update, but this is horrible!!!!!!! Can’t click on obvious selections, some are misplaced, and although clear and good resolution, it is cluttered and selections are misaligned and poorly positioned and not even intuitive. Abort!!!!!!!!!

Just who do you think you're requesting anything from here? Apple? Nope. If you actually read the Terms of Use you signed when you joined the forum, you'd know this is a user to user only forum, which Apple neither participates nor reads for user feedback. As users only your strong request can't be granted at all by anyone here.
And if you had bothered to read past the opening post instead of being another me too poster, you'd have seen a link posted multiple times you can use to share your thoughts with Apple as opposed to making other users take their personal time to post it just for you to use. But here it is, just for you --> Product Feedback - Apple
Ps: I don't agree with you at all that Liquid Glass has severely or in any way damaged the user experience. I think it's actually pretty cool. But again, you didn't take the time to read the thread, where it has also been explained how you can minimize the Liquid Glass affect. I'll let you do that on your own.

You do realize that this is a user-to-user site, and that we are all users here.....just like you, correct?
Apple is not here. They will not see your post or reply, but you can provide feedback to Apple using this link:
Feedback - iPhoneAppleApple › feedback › iphone
If this issue is not resolved, I will be forced to switch to the Android platform....
Comments like this will get you nowhere on this site. You should always buy what you want. We don't care what you buy.
Hello~ You would change to an android platform over the Liquid Glass appearance? Well…I always advice others to purchase what best meets their needs. The security of the Apple ecosystem will hands down always be my choice. ALWAYS…

We've all purchased Apple products and many of us have been loyal customers for many years. It seems unreasonable to roll out an update like this without an off switch for those that really can't function with this huge visual change, as seems clear from this long thread. I hope Apple hears us and implements Accessibility features to allow us to advance to iOS 26 without visual distraction that makes it harder for us to use their technology. Reduce Motion and Reduce Transparency are incomplete in 26.0.
Most people who've used Apple products for a long time are very aware of the fact that Apple gives people what Apple believes they need, not what people think they want. This has been true since the Apple IIe (at least).
I’ve turned on all the recommended accessibility enhancements to try to fix the visibility issues and I STILL can’t easily read the time on my Home Screen. And some of the icons (settings, for example) are still super faint. The overlapping components is distracting and reduces comprehension. It’s really sad to see how little concern Apple apparently has for people with disabilities with this update :(

Have you sent that feedback to Apple where it might do some good?
I'm only here to voice how much I hate this liquid glass feature. I am autistic and I have ADHD to the power of 10! It is a distraction in spades. The first thing I do when I get a new computer is turn all fading, sound, and any other visual and audio feature OFF. I have done this for YEARS. I did it in Windows and I have done it in iOS. Now I can't. What you have made a core feature is exactly what I DON'T want. It is a disability. Get it? Thanks for the accessibility help, Apple. Did you ever think there were people for whom it actually made their life harder? I am one of them. It is absolutely terrible on the iPad and iPhone. I mistakenly upgraded. But I am waiting on the laptop until you figure this out. I don't want it. I hate it. It makes my life harder. Give me a way to turn it off. You talk big like you are all about accessibility and helping people with disabilities. Well? I'm calling you out. I don't think so. Give me a workaround or I am going to have to go back to Windows. I can't work with a computer like this. I literally can't do it.

Do you feel better having gotten that out of your system? Because catharsis is the only think you're going to get out of telling use. We are not responsible for the change and we don't care if you go back to Windows.
This is a user-to-user forum. Apple doesn't read here for feedback or suggestions. You can, however submit feedback to Apple here:
If you had read the forum, you would have figured out that Apple doesn’t check these. If you have a problem with the operating system, the best way to attempt to fix it would be to contact them directly, through this form Feedback - iPhone - Apple.
Well, you signed the agreement to confirm that you were using a user-to-user site with the understanding that you would be posting to other users......just like you.....and....that Apple was not here, so they would not see your post or reply.
So, you are wasting your time here ranting and raving about things.
Give me a workaround or I am going to have to go back to Windows

This Liquid Glass feature makes me consider going back to Android
Then by all means, do. You should always purchase a phone that suits you best, and no one in this user to user forum cares what phone you use.

I couldn't have said this any better, so I won't even try.
