The 'liquid glass' effect introduced in iOS 26 is distracting and an accessibility nightmare. I know that you can reduce the transparency in settings, but this also adds opaque boxes around things that were fine before iOS 26. I do not want this enabled on any of my apple devices, how do I disable it?
(Note: I don't know why apple thinks I am talking about an iPhone 5s on iOS 12, I posted this on an M2 MacBook Air and use a 2nd generation iPhone SE.)

You cannot.
Liquid Glass is the new interface and cannot be disabled. It's how things look now. It's not an option or modifiable theme.
You can offer Apple feedback if you feel very strongly about it though, and if enough people do, they may elect to change it or offer a way to make it less distracting.

Do Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size. Turn ON "Reduce Transparency"
