How to disable liquid glass in iOS 26?
Is there a way to completely disable the liquid glass functionality on iOS 26? I'm not going to get into a lengthy diatribe over why it's awful, I just want it gone.

There's no off switch but however what I did is I went to settings-accessability-display & text size and reduced transparency and if that still isn't okay for you I would recommend scrolling down (same settings) and reducing white points atleast by 50% or however you like. It makes the icons less "shiny" in a way
Sounds like alpejohn is frustrated and that’s the best way to vent. I agree, I think it’s terrible and I’m doing everything I can to cancel out the visual changes. Hurts my eyes.

I already done that and it hasn’t made much difference. Everything is different,I hate it,I wish i could go back to previous display.
Tell Apple:
Maybe you’re using it wrong 🤔
I do wish there was a way to fully turn it off.
It’s pretty and all, but it runs down your battery very fast and makes it slow.
Remember iOS 7? We came to like it didn’t we? Maybe it’ll be the same this time
Thank you so much!!
They need to incorporate the option to turn this liquid glass effect off. It is annoying, looks ugly, has no real purpose and the founder of this company would never have allowed such nonsense.
Liquid Glass looks awful with my background photo. The photo is sentimental and I do not want to remove it for a dark background. There needs to be a way to turn this defeature off.
Actually, Liquid Glass is built off of the Aqua interface that was on macOS made under the leadership of Steve Jobs.

There are a lot of frustrating bugs to fix. Can't read notifications in dark mode on my Lock Screen. Looks like mishmash of white and black with no clear letters.
Thats right. Please apple care do something
A cheap third party UI is exactly why it seems like and now that I am typing I noticed the keyboard looks like a cheap add on as well
I couldn’t agree more. It hurts my eyes.
I can not express enough how much I absolutely hate it. This will be the thing that drives me to Android. I can NOT look at this horrible UI every single day.
