No one here can fix anything. This is a user to user only forum. If your phone is overheating and lagging, have you checked your Battery Health? Both issues you've described are symptomatic of a battery which may be failing, not necessarily an issue with iOS 26. Open Settings > Battery > Battery Health - if your battery health is close to or below 80%, the battery in your iPhone needs to be replaced, which will solve heating and lagging issues.

I’ve had the same issues, but iMessage and FaceTime randomly stop working multiple times regardless of taking the steps you mentioned. How did you keep yours from losing connection again?

Very weird that you just refuse to use face ID as it’s the quickest and easiest way
Security is a personal choice - if someone prefers a code over facial ID then maybe they are just security concerned and not worried about convenience.
