Sharing or grouping iPhone photos

I group my photos in albums

vacations events Christmas decor for the year etc.

I was recently trying to create an album of a football event I attended and was unable to create the album, it was created then disappeared. After googling found out Apple only allows up to 200 albums??! Why the limit ? This is how I keep the pictures organized and may have an iPhone for another 25 years …

is there any other way to get around this ?

You can have as many Albums within your own library as you want, either locally or in iCloud. (In iCloud you would pay a variable amount for the storage space, but the top storage tier is pretty high.) The limit you are hitting is for Shared Albums, which is a network resource that Apple provides without charge with documented limits including a maximum of 200 Shared Albums.

We all assume the reason for this and the other limits on the free services are to keep a few users from hogging all of this shared resource.

You can use public links. On a Mac it looks like this:

but you didn't say if you were using a Mac, an iPhone, or an iPad.

This may help:

Share photos and videos with an iCloud Link on iCloud.com - Apple Support

The pictures have to exist in your own Library. People can download them in full resolution. The links expire after 30 days-- if they wanted them then they should have downloaded them within that time.
