Hover text function not working on Mac Tahoe despite enabling in Accessibility settings

failure to enable hover text function on mac Tahoe despite swithing on the button in accessibility-hover text.

Just to clarify, for Hover Text to work, once enabled you have to press and hold the modifier key, (defaults to command), and click on the word.

It has already been demonstrated above in the screen shots(?)

The macOS is brand new out of the gate—

To be proactive you can file a bug report / submit your Apple Feedback here:  Product Feedback - Apple


bug fixes/ point updates will rollout over the entire next year.

Have you shut down and restarted to compare your results..

Did you try holding the Command key down and click your text. Make some changes and compare your results.




To lock in the function— turn on the option

No sorry. I've been running Tahoe on two different Macs since the first beta in June. Neither has ever crashed. Hover Text works fine for me. Switching appearance modes has not been an issue. I suspect you have one or more pieces of third-party software that's causing you issues.
