Apple is still signing iOS 18. I did it on my iPhone 15 because I hate how 26 looks. I don’t see the option to download the .ipsw for iOS 18 for the new iPhones. Please tell me it’s possible :(

As of yesterday, Apple is no longer signing iOS 18.6.2. So downgrading now is entirely impossible. People that did it before downloaded an unauthorized IPSW from the web, which is not authorized by Apple and can cause issues to your iPhone.

You cannot downgrade iOS. Also, since iOS 26 is the first version of iOS that ever shipped on the iPhone Air, it is likely that earlier versions of iOS would not have the proper drivers to operate the iPhone Air hardware, even if you could somehow force a downgrade.

That poster will not be posting any instructions on how to accomplish such a downgrade because there are no such instructions. Think about this. The iPhone 17 line shipped with iOS 26. iOS 18 doesn’t even know the iPhone 17 exists and does not support it.
iOS 26 is the only current version that is supported on the iPhone 17 series.

You might want to check if your iPhone 15 is still able to perform backups. Users who have attempted to downgrade with that unsupported method have found that backups no longer work, in addition to other iCloud problems.

Just checking. It is not the backup on the Air that would be a problem, it would be the iPhone 15 that would be experiencing the problems. Seen many already today after an ipsw downgrade.

There is NO supported solution to downgrade the iOS.
PS it is called iphone Air, not iphone 17 Air 🤓
