How to remove white borders around icons on iPhone 15 after update?

Following the brand new update to my iPhone 15 , the new icon layout puts a white border round my icons. I had spent ages making icons without borders that floated on my plain background . It says the new update is fully changeable but HOW do I get rid of these new bordered icons

Please follow this path,

iPhone > Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size > Increase Contrast > disable, if it is disabled, momentarily enable and then disable and restart iPhone.

I mean it’s very opinion based but in my opinion it is absolutely bad. I hate it so much, it’s the worst feature on my phone, I want to switch to android because of the Liquid Glass alone

Look before you leap. Android has adopted some very similar aspects to Liquid Glass and it's called Material 3. You're really not going to stop technology from moving forward. Not with Apple. Not with Google. Not with Android (which is a Google OS).

Telling only other users on a user to user only forum you're going to take your marbles and go somewhere else is meaningless. We don't honestly care what you choose to spend your money on. If you think you can truly escape the newer skeuomorphic design language, think again.

ok, you like it. But some do not, and it’s ok to complain about this. People give a lot of money for something they expect, or are familiar with. All your advice in honor, no one can „really“ tune down the aggressive oversharpen look. Especially the look of the icons. Why not the possibility to change to flat ui Theme besides the new themes? Almost any device on market allows to change the ui theme. It’s very sad.

I agree...these 'shifting' borders are ridiculous looking and ruin the aesthetics of the display. As a professional designer of 40 years, the liquid glass look is simply a terrible design and a poor implementation - like most of apple's attempts at visual design. And typical of Apple; they are so short sighted as to implement a visual feature that is sure to be controversial with no option to turn it off.

None of the suggestions work on the newer phones. I have an iPhone 16 Pro and the suggestions do NOT work.

As someone with at least $15k of Apple investment, I have the right to vent and complain in a forum like this, mixed in with my inquiry on how I might disable the feature. Those who rant about the people who are upset about the look of their $1500 dollar phones being degraded by a visually disturbing and overly busy new appearance feature with NO OPTION to turn that feature off, should get off their high horse....posting links to apple's feature suggestiin/complaint site are of no help- we all know this already and many have probably complained there already even though we all know that Apple doesn't really care and if they do decide to modify a feature; it will take them 10 years to do so.
