Apple SD card reader not working with IOS 26

I just recently updated to the IOS 26 and now can’t seem to use my SD card reader on my iPhone. I have the official Apple USB-C to Lightning adapter and the Lightning SD card reader, but when plugging them in, a message says ”Accessory not supported”. I can’t find the SD card in my gallery or files. I didn’t have this issue before updating to the newest IOS. Also tried restarting my phone but the message still appears.

It’s most definitely probably an iOS 20.0.1 issue with the iPhone 17s. I just left my genius appointment. Because I’m having the same issue getting my iPhone 17 pro max to read the SD card reader. On my wife’s iPhone 16e which also has USB-C port it reads it fine. On my iPhone 14 Pro Max that I’m returning it reads it just fine. At the store, the tech and I plugged it into 4 different iPhone 17s from regular to pro to pro max. And none of them recognized the SD card reader. They said I was still in my 2 week returning period and could exchange the phone. But they didn’t have the same storage or GBs at the store. This is definitely annoying and I hope Apple is aware and resolves this issue. I take pictures for both my kids soccer team. And right now I’m not able to transfer pictures to phone to edit them.

Same here! I recently got an iPhone 17, and tried opening files app, no recognition of my card reader. I’ve tried two different brands from Amazon, and even tried the Apple branded one. When I had my iPhone 15, it worked fine. I’m thinking it’s an iOS 26 bug or Apple just doesn’t want readers to work???

I spent an hour with Apple tech to no fix.

really annoying!!

please fix!
