Damaged Apple Devices - Swollen Batteries?
I have a few Apple devices, an old MacBook and two older iPads, that were pretty badly physically damaged during a move. Shattered screens, bent and dented casing, exposed internal hardware, etc. Thankfully, I don't really use them anymore, but I'm unsure of how to safely dispose of them. I have not seen any signs of swollen batteries after a few days, but I'm treating them like they are. I'm obviously not going to throw them away, however, my local e-waste recycling facility says they will not accept devices with swollen batteries. I contacted the fire department per their suggestion, and they also had no answer as to how to dispose of the devices safely. Not even the people you'd think would have an answer have a solution to this problem. I don't want to hang on to these myself for the rest of my life. There must be some way to dispose of them properly...
