Discrepancy in manufacturing dates for iPhone 15 battery and box

I purchased my iPhone 15 in August 2025. The manufacturing date on the box indicates June 2025, while the battery settings show April 2025. Is this possible? Additionally, I would like to confirm whether my device is genuine using the serial number. The website correctly identifies my phone, but I am curious about the discrepancy in the manufacturing dates.

Did you purchase from Apple or an Authorized reseller AND was the box still unopened and sealed w/ Apple’s unique tamper-evident seals?

If so don’t obsess over 30-90 day differences in dates.

After all the battery manufacturer needs to make the battery BEFORE it’s assembled with other parts into a complete iPhone.

Those manufacturing dates are reasonable.

The battery built after a previously-unrepaired iPhone assembly would be unexpected.

Being widely copied, serial numbers are useful for warranty checks, but are exactly useless for detecting counterfeits.

Buying only from Apple or authorized resellers is the best path, as used- and grey-market sales can have issues.

I purchased the device from an authorized reseller. The box was sealed and unopened, although the corners were slightly misshapen. I bought it as a brand-new unit (iPhone 15, 256GB).
