My phone receives messages and my phone doesn’t make a sound. Turned off focus and reset when to sounds everything I think is good

iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 18
I had an issue with no sounds with incoming calls on 2 iPhone 14s after installing iOS 26 and then with issues with no sound on incoming messages after installing iOS 26.0.1.
Both issues were resolved on both phones by switching the side button from ring to silent and then switching back to ring again.
