I just bought an iPhone Xs and it won't induction charge.
I also have a X that charges fine so it's not the charger.
Is there a way to determine if the issue is hardware or software?
I did update to the latest iOS.

Hello~ If you just bought that iPhone XS and are having charging issues the very best thing is to return it and get your money back. There could be any number of issues that could range from charging to battery issues. You can see here for a potential solution but returning it would be my advice…

Also, if you JUST bought an iPhone Xs, you bought used iPhone from 2018, 7 years ago. There's no telling what could have happened with that phone in 7 years. I hope you didn't much more than $30 for the phone as that's about all it's worth today.
