Dymo LabelWriter 450 Turbo and MacOS Tahoe

Just upgraded to Tahoe and my Dymo LabelWriter 450 Turbo is no longer recognized. Dymo says they don't have software compatible.

Any suggestions on a replacement label printer? (address labels and file folder labels are about all I print)

It isn’t a printer (hardware) issue. It is the software. Dymo hasn’t in quite awhile and the Dymo Label software isn’t compatible. I am using Label Live now. Label Live is apple silicon native and works very well. There is a fee for the program.

I figured out how to get the LabelWriter 450 Twin Turbo and Dymo Connect (DCDMac1.5.1.15.pkg) to work on Tahoe 26.1

First I did a complete uninstall by following these directions (I did a manual uninstall so I could see all that I was deleting):

https://help.dymo.com/s/article/How-to-completely-uninstall-the-DYMO-Software?language=en_US

Without the printer connected to my Mac, I installed "DCDMac1.5.1.15.pkg" with the "customize" option in my case because I didn't want the "DYMO WebApi Host" installed.

Next I started the Dymo Connect app, connected the printer to my Mac, then added the printer in System Setting/Printers and Scanners; Dymo Connect immediately recognized it.

Dymo Connect has a completely new user interface compared to the previous versions I used for years, looks like lots of new features, and will be a learning experience. Hope this helps.

I did not do a complete uninstall, but I could not get the new (DYMO Connect v1.5.1.15) to work with my LabelWriter 450 Duo until I deleted both printers (Label and Tape) from System Settings > Printers and then re-added them.

Since then it work fine, although the Tap labels at least don't have sufficient spacing between text boxes.

Everything from DYMO seems like it was ported from DOS.

With some help of the commercial helpdesk I was directed to, I was able to install my Labelwriter 450 in DYMO Connect - it is recognised. With difficulty, but OK.

But - in the old version I could import addresses (Christmas card labels) from Contacts (macOS).

No problem at all - this has worked for many years.

Now this road is blocked - only addresses from Google and Outlook can be imported, or from a spreadsheet.

Result: Either a lot of work typing the data in a spreadsheet, or handwriting addresses like in the old days.

I find this difficult to believe.

What a mess, DYMO!
