How so I stop apps pausing the music app when opening them?

After upgrading to iOS 26 I have noticed that apps that do not provide audio content, such as the TalkingPoints app used by our school district to communicate with families, will pause music playing from the Apple Music app. I cannot find any settings that would allow me to say the application currently playing should not be interrupted by another app. This makes sense do other content apps but a messaging app is not one I would like to “take over” the audio.

please help. This is incredibly frustrating.
