Unable to toggle off notifications on Mac running macOS Tahoe

Turn off notifications for an app or website on Mac - Apple Support

If you can't change the settings for some applications, typically that's because your Mac is managed by an organization (employer or school) and has restricted the settings to which you have access. If that's the case, you'll need to contact the IT department of the organization about this issue.

Confirm there are no Profiles installed in System Settings > General > Device Management.

Also, and sorry for the basic question, but confirm you are trying to change the setting at the top. For example, in this one the subordinate settings (boxed) are 'grayed out' and cannot be changed because the top toggle is set to off.

Thank you very much. I never thought it was a bug, I event went and check my Profile and no my work Google Cloud account wasn't installed.

It was clearly a bug and fixed when I switched my Dark mode to Light mode.

And listen to this one, "for me", the issue is happening if I'm using the Dark appearance, if I change it to Light, the issue is gone, meaning I can toggle the option on and off with no issue in any spot of the toggle. 🤷‍♂️

I found how to make it happen:

I literally have to click where you see the red circle in the toggle, maybe for you it's another spot, carefully click all around the toggler until you find it, I have seen the same issue in other type of selection like drop downs where I have to click in an specific area to activate it, this is for sure a bug in MacOS Tahoe.

Thank you for posting this visual, this is by far the worst design I've seen come from Apple since using the OS. I was able to actually turn it on after clicking multiple times in the general area that you highlighted.

It's yet another bug for this update. 26 on the Mac and iPhone have been absolutely Windows ME level trash. Only on the iPad is it halfway decent. But even it has issues.

Apple has clearly reached its peak, where they're now twiddling their thumbs with nothing to do but tweak graphics (and hope that it obscures from the fact that their AI solution has absolutely tanked). And even the graphic 'choices' are horrible. I would love to hear Jony Ive's true thoughts on Apple's new direction.

I have the same issue; I can not turn off the "Allow notifications" option in Notification settings.
