Having trouble getting two windows to display side by side on my screen

I’m having trouble getting Safari and Arc to stay open side by side on my Mac. I like to use both browsers for different things, but when I try to drag one window next to the other, the first one minimizes automatically.

I recorded a short video showing what happens. How can I fix this, or am I using the window feature incorrectly? I haven’t used a MacBook since 2020, so I’m still getting used to the newer multitasking options.

That’s macOS Stage Manager doing its thing — it auto-minimizes other apps when one is active. To keep Safari and Arc side by side, either turn Stage Manager off (System Settings → Desktop & Dock → Stage Manager → Off) or use Split View by holding the green button in a window’s corner and choosing “Tile Window to Left/Right.”
