Safari Audio keeps playing even when tab is replaced with new site

Safari Version 26.0.1 (21622.1.22.11.15)

Mac OS Tahoe 26.0.1

Open a browser window and play audio e.g. Facebook reels and play audio

Click on a bookmark tab group

The browser content is replaced with the tab group pages but sometimes the previous page's audio keeps on playing.

Is this a bug?

I've noticed the same thing. I'm not sure if it is a bug, or if it is expected behaviour. but if you want to mute a particular tab, you just need to click the "Mute This Tab" button on the address bar for the desired tab.
