Locating a hidden plugin in Logic Pro X on Mac

Hi. I was looking for a way to find a plugin I can see in the Plugin Manager but can’t find in the usual locations for plugins. The plugin has failed validation and I can’t find figure out how to use Terminal or the auval tool to find where the actual file is located. I’ve checked the general component folders AND user folders for component files (and VST/VST3s) and I still can’t see it BUT it appears in Logic AND the auval tool and has a Type Subt, etc (aumu RMPR STLK). Any help in how to locate it so that I can delete it will be greatly appreciated.

Hello Eddie. It was actually for the plugin shown in the Auval tool window (first screenshot, lower left, arrow pointed toward it) whose code I've mentioned in the post (Romplur by StudioLinked, RMPR STLK). I eventually found it hiding within another plugin I suppose as the host - the plugin itself had a completely different name and manufacturer in Plugin Manager (Orbit 1.5 by Beat Academy). I think Romplur is a software used to create plugins but apparently whose code (or whatever) still pops up in Plugin Manager even though it's not the main plugin in use. I eventually did a 'sudo' search in Terminal after directions from a different site for Logic Pro assistance and the Orbit plugin was the only one that kept popping up in the results even though it wasn't the plugin listed as failed validation in Plugin Manager. When I deleted Orbit 1.5, Romplur by StudioLinked also disappeared...which meant it was the host for the Orbit plugin, but that somehow Logic still picked up separately as a plugin in itself, which was not at all the case when checking the usual component/vst folders.

So the moderators can mark this as resolved.

Thank you for your assistance nonetheless.

The Halion Sonic content and application files are typically located in the /Library/Application Support/Steinberg/ folder on a Mac, specifically within a Content or VST Sound subfolder. To find the exact content location, use the Steinberg Library Manager, which shows the installation path after you open the app and click the gear icon.

Weird that HALION SONIC is in the PLUG-IN MANAGER but not in the Default Components folder.

Have you tried this file path? /Users/yourname/Library/Audio

I believe this is a Legacy file path. Perhaps that is what Steinberg used when installing on your system.
