remove empty file folders on desk

I have tried command+delete they duplicate I started with 2 file folders I now have 13 copies.

I have tried command drag them over to trash..it asks for my password, nothing happens.

I get the message operation can't be completed because "unwanted1copy 8" needs to be downloaded. There is nothing in these folders, they are copies.

I've tried putting them in 1 folder and move to documents...it won't accept any more folders, even if I rename them.

how do I do this in Terminal?
