Show current elevation in maps
When driving, with Apple Maps displaying my route and turn by turn navigation on my car’s screen, I’d like to see my current elevation. I drive over the sierras regularly, sometimes 3 times in a month, from Gardnerville NV, which is >4,000ft elevation to Roseville and Sacramento CA. My destinations are likely at sea level or close but signs along the way tell me I’m ascending and descending. One route I take has me at 9,000 ft at one point.
How do I add it to the map I’m viewing in the car? Seeing it when I’m choosing my destination means nothing. I want to see, in live time as I’m driving, my current elevation.
15+ years ago when I was using a standard Garmin unit I was able to do this, and am baffled all these years later with such great advancements in technology that I can’t figure it out with the latest iOS.
Thanks in advance!
