Safari on iOS 26.0.1 - Links stop working after opening one in a new tab

After updating to iOS 26.0.1, I've noticed a consistent issue in Safari. When I visit a webpage with multiple links that are set to open in new tabs (e.g., target="_blank"), the first link works fine and opens a new tab. But after that, none of the other links on the original page respond when tapped.

I've tried force-closing Safari, clearing cache, several different browsers, and disabling JavaScript, but the issue persists. It seems like the original page loses interactivity after the first tab opens.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Any known workarounds or confirmation from Apple?

This is happening to me too. The kinks won’t open in app, safari or chrome. Frustrating. I had to pull out my laptop to finish registering for something.
