how do I see the changes proposed by AI writing tools?

I upgraded to Sequoia for the AI writing tools. I've found them, but I can't see what they do because they propose a replacement text but don't show what is different between the proposal and the original. This isn't much use because it means having to closely proofread every single word, in parallel with the original open in another window, to check that it still says what I want.

How do I make it highlight the differences before choosing whether to replace the original?

Here's the dialog that I get (using the Proofread function on some blindtext). It has made a lot of changes but there's no way to check them, plus it's in this stupidly low-contrast black-on-gray teensy tiny font that makes it nearly impossible for me to read.

Apple says that there should be highlights marking the changes and buttons for working through them all one by one but I haven't found them. (Use Writing Tools with Apple Intelligence on Mac - Apple Support (NZ))
