disabling iCloud photos from Mac

I want to disable icloud photos from my Mac. Will this disable icloud from phone too? or will the photos stay on my phone with icloud enabled and they will just not download/show on the Mac?

iPhone 11, iOS 18

Each device has its own Photos Library, so connecting one of them to iCloud, or disconnecting it, doesn't affect any other device.

Using iCloud Photos synchronizes a device's Photos Library with your iCloud Photos Library. Having iCloud Photos turned on makes the pictures in that device's Library exactly the same as pictures in your Library at iCloud.com. Every device connected to iCloud Photos has the same pictures. So, if you decide to turn iCloud back on for your Mac, then all the pictures on your Mac's System Photos Library will be copied to iCloud, and all those pictures will be copied to every other connected device. And all the new pictures at iCloud will be copied back to the Mac.

By the way, you can have two Photos Libraries on a Mac, with only one of them connected to iCloud. Is that an option that would work for you?
