Unable to download files or apps on MacBook Pro after migration from Windows laptop

I transferred all my data from my Windows laptop to the new MacBook Pro through migration assistant. but now I am unable to download any file or app through the internet. it says you do now have the permission to save to the null folder. how do I fix this?

is this using a browser...(?)


Change where the downloaded items are saved on your Mac


ex.


Safari > Settings> General> change the “File download location”
