Unable to airplay/mirror to Smart Board MX Series (V5) since installing Tahoe

My macbook pro can no longer connect to our Smart Board MX Series V5 since updating to Tahoe. I get a thumbnail of my desktop that displays correctly, but the Smart Board screen is black. The mirroring feature worked flawlessly prior to the update. I've tried it on 2 macbook pro's that have upgraded to Tahoe and get the same results. I can however, from my iphone 16 pro, mirror easily to to the Smart Board. I need a little help?

Same issue came to light yesterday in our school. Tested four different MacBooks, two M1 and two M4. M1s have 26.0.1 as well as one of the M4s, and one M4 is at 15.6.1. Tried on two of the subject boards. The M4 with 15.6.1 is the only one that worked as it should. The other three show that they connect but get the black screen on the board.

I know nothing of your display however macOS are increasingly fussy over sub par cables for connecting external displays it is recommended to upgrade you cable connection if applicable.

High quality cables certified ULTRA HDMI or PREMIUM ≤ 1.0 m length or USB-C Thunderbolt5 cables ≤ 0.5 m length cables rated for high-speed data.

This is known to resolve issues compare your results and report back..

Since my last post, SmartBoard pushed out a software update within the last week or two and suddenly the wireless mirroring is working again. It wasn’t because of Tahoe update 26.2 because I hadn’t had a chance to update that before discovering that the mirroring was back in service. It appears on my end that the problem was with SmartBoard. They needed to update their software to work with Tahoe iOS.

Thanks for the update.

Hopefully other people will now realize that third parties are responsible for making their products work with other devices even when Apple is the source of the breakage. And it can take time for third parties to provide updates to deal with changes in another product's behavior. Kudos for Smart Board for doing the work. Manufacturers & developers like them are the ones people should be supporting.
