Tahoe update menu bar glitch?

Since I updated to Tahoe, a keyboard/emoji symbol appeared in the menu bar and can't be removed. It doesn't exist as an option in the system settings menu bar customization.

Also, my apple icon drop down perpetually states there is 1 update in system settings. but when I go to system settings, no updates are found.
