How do you go to the previous folder in the Safari sidebar in full-screen mode?

When I click into folders in the bookmarks menu in the sidebar in full-screen mode, I can't see any way to go back to the previous folder. There is no back button, and I can't find any keyboard shortcuts that work. Do I have to exit full screen mode to do this?

Chiming in that I also see a back arrow in full screen bookmarks folders (macOS 26.0.1, Safari 26.0.1)

If you have any Safari extensions running, try turning them off (full disclosure, I am using Dark Reader with no issues).

Thank you for chiming in

Though, not sure if this was intended for moi or OP

Safari in Full Screen Mode and using Dark Mode for the Entire System

In the Interest of Full Disclosure the only Safari Extension is " Ads and Stuff Blocker " from the Apple Apps Store

The OP, apologies for the confusion. Either way, I'd echo the 'what can we tell you' to the OP. There should be a back arrow, and there is for others.

@Ernst Vikne, I think update to 26.0.1 (assuming your 26.0 byline was accurate) and see if that helps. Turn off extensions, perhaps try Safe Mode.

No issues on the current machine M4 Desktop, M4 MBA and M2 Mac Mini each running Tahoe 26.01

User byline " MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 26.0 "

Keep your Mac up to date

Always make a Time Machine Backup  before doing any upDates
